SPO Rouen Defeats Calais

Andre Chatfield may have had his best game of his season today after helping his team defeat Calais 82-70. With an outstanding 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assists this kid definitely showed up to play today. As soon as he entered the game, he tore the floor going at each and every player that guarded him. He had a couple And-1 plays, was 100% from the line, and shut down the the opposing team's two best players. His coach knew he had to keep Andre in the game, so he ended up taking the place of both their starting shooting guard and center. On the defensive end of the floor, he had two steals leading to a layup and an assist. There wasn't anyone else on the court than could even keep up with Andre. He was aggressive on both ends of the floor, turn the game around when his team was in need, and showed Calais what he could do on the court. Now, Andre Chatfield and his team look forward to playing Calais once again. This time away, it will probably be a bit more difficult since they're not at their home turf. But, this isn't a problem for Andre Chatfield because no matter what, he's always coming to play.

Quarter Finals: SPO Rouen vs. Calais

This coming Sunday, Andre Chatfield and his team will be up against Calais, a huge system-running team with, as you could say, a lot of tricks up their sleeve. For the last 12 years, their coach has been known for running pick and screen plays in the paint to get their #1 player a lane to the whole. In the earlier season, SPO Rouen defended their turf, defeating them twice last year. Now, coming back to try and regain their way to victory, they stumbled upon Andre Chatfield. Averaging 17.8 ppg and 11 assists, this kid has been a huge help to the team. He can score, easily get to the basket for an easy lay-up or shoot from long range for a tray. His defending skills are still developing as he matures, but he won't let anything stop him and his team from winning this truly important game. Here are the comparisons:

SPO Rouen vs. UCK Nef Vannes

Andre Chatfield was doing his thing on the court last week when him and his team blew out Vannes by fifty points. With an outstanding 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists he put his team to victory early in the first half. By the start of the third quarter, the game was already out of reach for the green and white UCK team. Still, SPO Rouen continued to play at their highest level of basketball to bring the lead to a high forty points. When 4th quarter came around, the starting five was subbed out, except Chatfield. His coach trusted him enough to keep the game at a distance and that's exactly how he performed. During the entire game, Andre played aggressive defense, and when the ball was in his hands, he either earned the basket or an assist. You could say he was the player of the game the way he showed out last Sunday. Just another game closer to the championship. Andre Chatfield and his team now await the well-known "Cholet Basket" and with a win on their hand, they will be named #1 in our bracket. Andre is, as-always, ready to compete against the team and is always taking that extra step to stay ready for his next competition on Sunday.

SPO Rouen vs. Union Rennes Pace Basket

Yesterday, Andre Chatfield and SPO Rouen blew out "Union Rennes Pace Basket 35" by 27 points. Andre was a big help to the win with 16 points and 12 rebounds; a double-double. In the first quarter, SPO Rouen took the lead by 15 points to put the game away early. Andre and his team kept the lead increasing, keeping the game out of reach. During the second half, he got hot and scored a quick 8 points in 6 minutes. He took rebounds on both sides of the floor and pushed the ball up the court to get easy baskets. On the offensive end, he made easy moves to get to the whole for easy assists and dishes to their center. Near the end of the fourth quarter, his coach moved him up to the PG position to waste the clock. He earned a few trips to the free-show line and him and his team earned a twenty-point victory.
