Tournament with "Team Georgia Elite"
Last weekend, a couple of my teammates and I played in a tournament at Pope High School with "Team Georgia Elite". We were selected from the team to play with the team when the coach saw us play in our last tournament at PHS. As I told you guys in my last post, I definitely stepped it up this tournament if you compare it to my last couple tournaments. I wasn't nervous, and I went out on the court ready to play. Our team made it to the championship where we played a team from Memphis. We blew the team out by thirty points and towards the end of the game, the other team began to lose their temper. They started over aggressing our team and the older team that was watching us play started booing us. To me, the entire situation was hilarious and it made me play better. Each steal, I sprinted down the court for an easy two points. It wasn't five minutes on the clock that I had to be taken out of the game. I'd driven toward the basket trying to lay the ball up between two big men. After shooting, I fell at a bad angle and my foot began to swell. Perfect way to end a tournament, huh? But, other than than the fact that I got injured, I'm glad a played in this tournament with a couple of my teammates and I had a good time smashing the other team.

Homecoming Tournaments
It's been about three weeks since I've been in the states and the homecoming experience I've had has been remarkable. I'm playing on an AAU basketball team with friendly teammates and a relying coach that has given me confidence ever since I've started playing with him. The moment I joined the team, I felt as though I'd been playing with the team all my life; I fit right in. Last week, I had two tournaments during the same weekend (Nike Memorial Classic & Georgia AAU State Championship) which was definitely a challenge. I mean, try playing 8 games in one small three-day weekend traveling an hour back and forth from one gym to the other. At one point, one of our games conflicted with another in a different tournament so we had to forfeit. The last two games of the weekend, we were all exhausted. We continued to play in the States and ended up in third place after we defeated College Park. It wasn't exactly the normal basketball game you see everyday. It was slow-paced, and we kept the game close until the fourth quarter were we dominated on both ends of the floor.
Now, I'm looking forward to playing in my next tournament and the showing the world who I truly am. The first tournament was a bit shaky but that doesn't mean that I'm going to give up. Me and my dad took out the time to go to the gym two times a day to work out and get my head in the right place. I'm ready to redeem myself and play with my teammates again. But, this time will be different; I'm ready to play.
